I graduated from
Freeman Academy and went to Bethel College in N. Newton, Kansas where I
earned a degree in vocational home economics education. While in
college I met my husband and we moved back to Freeman after we got
married. I taught geography and home economics at Freeman Academy
for four years. After Karalee and Tim were born I got a job teaching
Title I at Freeman Public High School. I decided to go back to
school and took math classes and I am currently teaching high school math
and physical science at Menno High School. I also have been coaching cross
country and junior high track for about six years and am assistant track
coach at the high school level. A new venture for me this year is working
several nights a week as a tutor at Jamesville Colony in the Menno
District. I have a class of eleven young men who are working on high
school diplomas. They are enthusiastic and work hard on their lessons.
My husband, Tom, works at Saarie Auto Body in Freeman as a mechanic.
His passions are hunting and fishing and he is a member of South Dakota
Bowhunters Association board of directors. He makes long bows and
recurve bows and elk hunting is his favorite activity.
Raising Siamese cats and jogging are several of my favorite pastimes.
I also love to watch my kids in their activities.
